Our Journey To Empower A Thousand New Kickpreneurs

We are creating an ebook that will hopefully inspire and empower many people to run their own Kickstarter projects.

The What

We’re going to interview some of the most successful Kickstarter project founders (we call them Kickpreneurs) and create an ebook about their strategies to success so others can be inspired , educated and equipped with the tools needed to create successful Kickstarter Projects.

We’re heavily inspired by books like Startups Open Sourced and Founders at Work.

This blog is going to be a “diary” to document our journey from idea to launched product. We’re planning on sharing all our challenges and victories with you, sharing interviews and tons of content and give you an inside look so you can learn from our mistakes and we can learn from your feedback.

The Mission

To empower over 1,000 new successful projects on Kickstarter.

The Why

There are two simple reasons.

1. We want to create an information product that will empower more people to make their idea a reality
2. We want to start an information business together (Ramin & Jason) that can generate (somewhat) passive monthly income for us

The Who

We’re two friends from different opposite parts of the world (I live in Bankgok Thailand and Jason just moved from Silicon Valley to New York City). We have both been entrepreneurs for almost our entire lives and love creating new stuff and working on new projects. We’ve supported MANY Kickstarter projects and have been fans of the platform for a long time.

The How

The idea is simple: We’re reaching out to tons of successful Kickpreneurs and asking for an hour of their time on Skype (think Mixergy).

Once we’ve done that, we’re transcribing the entire interview, editing the parts and distilling the key learnings and data points out of the interviews to construct the entire book. At some point, we will take the best interviews and make them available in fill.

We’ve already finished our first interview with Eric from the $10+ million Pebble Kickstarter (you can see a video excerpt here). We learned a lot from that first interview and are moving on from there.

What’s next?

We have around 5 interviews in the can and have lots more scheduled in the near future. Originally we thought we would launch within a month but we’re learning that it takes a good amount of time to schedule these interview and make them great so we’re adjusting our plans and giving ourselves a bit more time to complete the project and launch the ebook.

We’re now at the stage were we’re going to start sharing more content and interviews with the world on this blog and hopefully start getting more feedback on what people really want so we can create something truly valuable for the world.
